The Journey Rug, a natural portable prayer rug handwoven on a traditional loom by Riyadh from his home workshop in Jerba. The rug carries the quality wool tradition of our other prayer rugs in a smaller, more lightweight design. It comes with an organically tanned leather carry pouch, beautifully hand-cut and sewn by Farhat, a leather artisan. The design features a sajda bar with alternating stripes of plant-dyed olive and coral-toned threads exemplifying the beauty of natural colors and earth-toned shades. We offer these rugs with an intention to prompt reflection on the production and materials of prayer rugs around the world, which are unfortunately too often produced in exploitative conditions and of pollutive materials. The rugs are about 60 cm wide and 110cm long.
